Hi, I'm Amanda☀️
"A little glow, a little joy, and a whole lot of heart."

The artist and creative soul behind our tiny glass charms ✨
Purring Embers Studio began as a small dream to bring a bit more magic🪄 into the world — and now, with every flame-kissed bead and tiny glass charm, I get to share that dream with you.💕
I view my creations as tiny tokens that remind us of love, play, and wonder. Whether it’s a custom charm that holds a special memory or a butterfly bead that simply makes you smile, my hope is always to spark joy.🌟
🎨 Fun fact: This illustration is based of a photo of me at an aquarium in South Korea!🐠💖 And yes—my hair really was as bright and colourful as candy!🍬
💡 How It All Began
I first discovered the magical world of glassblowing and lampworking through the Netflix series Blown Away🔥—and yes, I was literally blown away (pun fully intended 😄). The stunning sculptures made by the artists lit a spark in me that I couldn’t shake.
At the time, I thought I’d need to travel overseas to learn this art, since the glass community here in Singapore is small and close-knit.🫂 But then in 2024, fate stepped in—I stumbled across a lampwork bead-making class right here at home. I took it as my sign and jumped in!
🔥 First Dance with Fire
“Glass is like a cat: elegant, unpredictable, and full of personality.”
My first time at the torch? Honestly, it was a little terrifying.🫣 I had played with clay, embroidery, and leather before—but glass was something else entirely.
Cold, it's unyielding, hard and stiff. But when molten, it flows like honey—alive, wild, and beautiful. That first class completely enchanted me and I was hooked.❤️🔥
🌙 From Hobby to Heartwork
What started as a creative experiment soon became a quiet obsession. I began renting studio time to get more hours at the flame. By day, I kept up my corporate job, but by night, I was dreaming in colour palettes🌈 and melting glass in my mind.
Then one afternoon, while shaping my very first glass animal in the flame, something shifted. I knew in my gut: this is what I want to do.💘
I spent the next few weeks deep-diving into how to build my own lampworking studio—researching safety gear, equipment, kilns, ventilation, and flame chemistry (even tutorials on how to tile a table; yes I designed my tables too!). Months later, Purring Embers Studio was born.🌱
✨ What "Purring Embers" Means
“Like the soft purr of a cat or the warm glow of embers—this studio is my comfort space, and I hope it becomes yours too.”
I’m a proud cat-mom of two 🐱🐱 (I love them to absolute bits!!), and their purring is genuinely healing.❤️🩹 There’s something magical about that soft, contented hum—it’s calming, warm, alive.
Lampworking feels the same way to me. The warmth and glow of the torch.🔥 The rhythm of melting and shaping. The awe of transforming a simple glass rod into something full of personality.
Purring Embers Studio is the remembrance of those moments— a warm, cozy, glowing joy you can hold in your hands.🙌
