🔥 What is lampwork glass?
Lampwork is a traditional glassworking technique where glass is melted in a torch flame and shaped by hand. All our charms and beads are made this way—each one is sculpted by Amanda using just rods of colored glass, heat, and a lot of love🔥 Learn more from our Lampwork Process page.
🧪 What type of glass do you use for your charms?
All of our charms are made using 104 COE glass, also known as soft glass. This is a popular choice among lampwork artists for its wide range of beautiful colors, smooth workability in the flame, and delicate clarity once cooled. ✨
“COE” stands for Coefficient of Expansion, which refers to how much the glass expands and contracts with temperature changes. A 104 COE means it’s designed to work within a specific temperature range, ideal for the detailed, small-scale work we do here at Purring Embers Studio🔥
While “soft glass” may sound delicate, rest assured—it’s just as durable as other types of glass when treated with care. Like all glass, it can still break or chip if dropped, crushed, or knocked against hard surfaces, but under normal wear conditions, it’s perfectly sturdy for jewellery.
Every charm is properly annealed in a kiln to strengthen it and relieve internal stress, so you receive a finished piece that’s as long-lasting as it is lovely 💎💖

🐾 Are all your jewellery pieces handmade?
Yes! Every piece at Purring Embers Studio is handmade by Amanda. From melting glass rods for your charms🔥 to assembling the final necklace or earring, it all happens right in our cozy studio—no mass production here!
🌈 Will my charm look exactly like the listing photo?
Each charm is handmade to order, so no two are exactly alike—and that’s part of the magic! ✨ While we do our very best to recreate each design consistently, slight variations in shape, size, and swirl are what make your piece one-of-a-kind.
🎨 Do you accept custom orders?
Yes, we do! ✨ If you have a special design in mind—like a custom charm of a character or animal—we’d love to chat about it.
All custom pieces are handmade by Amanda using the same torch-fired lampwork technique as our regular designs. Depending on the request and current schedule, custom orders typically take 6–10 weeks to create.

🎀 Can I add custom charms to an existing design, or add more charms to my custom jewellery?
Yes, you can! We're happy to help add a little extra sparkle to your piece 💖 — but do note that additional custom charms will incur a fee, which varies based on the complexity of the design. To keep things smooth and manageable, we recommend keeping your charm ideas simple!
🧷 Adding a custom charm to an existing collection piece
If you'd like to add personalised charm(s) to a piece from our existing collection, please first give us a headsup in the notes section at checkout. Afterwhich, please email us at hello.purringembersstudio@gmail.com with your request and order ID (e.g. PES1234). We'll let you know if the design is possible and quote you the additional fee. 📝 Please note: We’ll only begin making the charm(s) after payment is received.

🔮 Do you sell just the handmade glass charms on their own?
Our glass charms are made exclusively for our jewellery designs — so we don’t sell them on their own. Each charm is lovingly crafted to be part of a complete piece, designed with intention, balance, and a touch of magic ✨💖

Order

⏳ How long will my order take?
Each piece is lovingly handmade to order. Please allow us 7-14 working days for production before your order is shipped. During busy times, your custom jewellery might take up to 21-28 working days to be made. Once your order is ready, we aim to get your order shipped within the week and you'll receive a tracking number to keep an eye on your jewellery's journey✈️📦
📝 Please note: The production time doesn’t include the 1-3 weeks it will take your order to reach you from Singapore. Please only order if you are agreeable with the production time.

⏰ Can I request a rush order?
We totally understand that sometimes you need a special piece quickly—whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, or just a joyful surprise. While all our jewellery is handmade to order, we may be able to accommodate urgent requests on a case-by-case basis.
If you need your order by a specific date, please:

💙 Please reach out within 48 hours of placing your order.
🩵 Let us know your required delivery date and where you're based.
We’ll do our best to help, but due to the time-intensive nature of lampwork and kiln annealing, we strongly recommend placing time-sensitive orders well in advance.
📝 Please note: We reserve the right to decline any rush requests if the expected delivery date is too close to the order date, or if we feel the turnaround may compromise the quality of the piece.

❌ Can I cancel my order?
Yes, you can—as long as work on your piece hasn’t started yet. 💬 If you’d like to cancel your order, please reach out to us at hello.purringembersstudio@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Once we’ve begun crafting your piece—specifically, once the glass has been melted—we’re no longer able to accommodate cancellations. This is because raw glass materials are costly, and some colours are rare or difficult to restock. 🔥🎨

📏 Can I request a custom size?

💌 Can I include a gift message?
Yes! Just leave your message in the notes section at checkout, and we’ll include a handwritten card with your order—because thoughtful gifts deserve thoughtful touches 🎁

Shipping

🌍 Do you offer international shipping?
Yes, we ship worldwide via SingPost, our national postal service! 🌎
We offer free tracked shipping for international orders over a certain amount (varies by country). The shipping rate or threshold will be displayed at checkout.

🏡 Can I change my shipping address?
Yes—as long as your order hasn’t been shipped yet, we’re happy to help update your delivery address! 💌
If you need to make a change, please email us at hello.purringembersstudio@gmail.com as soon as possible with your order ID (e.g. PES1234) and the correct address.
Once your parcel is on its way, we’re unfortunately unable to make any changes, so do reach out quickly if you spot a typo or need to redirect it! 🐾
📦Please note: If an order is returned to us due to an invalid or undeliverable address, we’re happy to resend it—but a redelivery fee will apply.
📦 Can I combine two orders to save on shipping?
Yes, absolutely! If you’ve already placed an order and want to add more sparkly treasures to your cart, we’re happy to combine multiple orders shipping to the same address—as long as the first order hasn’t been shipped yet. ✨
Even better: if your combined total qualifies for free tracked shipping, we’ll gladly refund the extra shipping fee you paid.
To combine your orders, just place your second order and then email us at hello.purringembersstudio@gmail.com with both order numbers. We’ll take care of the rest with care and cat-like efficiency. 🐾💌
🔍 How do I track my order?
Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive an email with your tracking number and a link to follow your parcel’s journey.
You can track your parcel directly through the SingPost website. Just enter your tracking number into the search bar, and you’ll see the latest updates.
🌍 For international orders:
Once your parcel leaves Singapore, it’s handed over to your local postal service (e.g. USPS, Royal Mail, Australia Post). Tracking may continue on SingPost’s site, but for more detailed updates, you can also copy the tracking number and paste it into your country’s postal tracking website.

🧾 Will I have to pay Customs, Duty, or VAT?
Possibly—depending on your country’s import rules. 🌍
All orders are shipped from our small cozy studio in Singapore🍂. The prices you see at checkout do not include customs duties, VAT, and other import taxes.
International parcels may be charged additional fees (i.e. customs charges, Duty or VAT) by your country’s customs office when it arrives. These charges are set by your local government and are the buyer’s responsibility—we wish we had more control over it (we really do!), but sadly, we don’t.😿 To avoid any surprises, we recommend checking your country’s customs or tax authority website for more information before placing your order.🛒
As much as we’d love to help you skip those extra charges, we’re unable to mark parcels as gifts or undervalue them—it’s against international shipping laws, and we like to keep things above board (and extra safe🛡️). Thanks so much for understanding! 💌
